You have left me but what can I say
was it just yesterday feels like forever and a day.
But you are with me as you always were
In the clear days, and those lost in a blur.
You are the coaster on the breakfast table
left there forever, for I am yet unable
To put it away hidden in the drawer
For you always had your coffee there, that I cannot ignore.
You are the coat hanging from the hook.
Yours is the bedside table with its book
still half read do you now know the end?
I leave it there, just in case, just to pretend.
I know you’re gone it has to be
It’s just in moments each day I will see
You in the small things of everyday
Then I know you’re with me, in every way.”
