Easter- The Characters in the Story Barabbas

Responses are from a liturgy used on Iona- Wildgoose Publications

Where Christ Walks We will follow

Where Christ stumbles We will stop

Where Christ cries We will listen

Where Christ suffers We will hurt

When Christ dies We will bow our heads in Sorrow

When Christ rises again in glory We will share his endless joy.

I’m Barabbas, a revolutionary against Rome. Somehow I’ve found myself free and Jesus of Nazareth is to be hung. Now, I don’t know much about him, but I know he’s never killed anyone. Quite the reverse! From what I’ve been told he actually went around healing people. Strange then he is going to the cross, and not me, don’t you think?

Prayer Heavenly Lord, Barabbas led a life of crime and hatred. Help us to love our enemies as Jesus did, and pray for them even when they hurt us. Amen

Church Hall Mural If anybody has 1/2 empty tins of paint that aren’t going to be used, please bring them along to Minor Church and we will make use of them, as our resident artist is going to create a mural for our Church hall. Thank-you
